Happy Leap Day Friends! :D

Hello my beloved Friends and Family! πŸ™‚ I hope you all had a super great week last week! I know I had a pretty good one πŸ™‚ haha I probably ate more cake then you all though haha;)

But this week we had some pretty cool miracles! We have been working with a less active in the ward and then we decided to bring her to a lesson with us. We taught the plan of Salvation and it was just perfect! Both are single moms with son’s 8 years old. (PERFECT RIGHT!?) and then when the investigator had a concern the less active was able to answer it and help her to realized, that the concern is real but also that she had that very same concern before and this is how she was able to get through it. It was just awesome! πŸ™‚

Also this week we’ve gone to a few weddings haha one was super formal. everyone was wearing tux and super fancy dresses. and it was beautiful and all but I liked the second one better. It was for the Elder’s investigator and it was all in Spanish. But it was so comfortable. Everyone there was so happy and even though I couldn’t really talk to anyone there I could feel the love in the room. πŸ™‚ it was just awesome πŸ™‚ Also I’m getting to try some authentic mexican food here… (I think I like the fake mexican food more… lol) But I know I have to eat or i’ll offend someone so I ate some weird looking green spaghetti πŸ™‚ haha I hope you’ll all proud of me.

Something that i’ve been studying this month that i think was super cool is from Ether. In Ether 12:4 it talks a lot about Hope. To Hope for a better world. That Hope is the anchor to the souls of men. And that its this hope that leads us to be Sure and Steadfast always abounding in good works and being led to glorify God. That scripture stood out to me this week because there is so much around us to cause us to lose all hope in humanity. There are so much bad in the world some might ask ourselves “what is the point? why am I here is its only going to get worse” But the principle of Hope leads us to act, to do good, and to try for a better world. also Missionary work is not an easy thing… Too often i’ve had doors slammed in my face and People threaten to call the cops on us, But I still go out everyday. Why? Because I have hope that I’ll find the 1. The 1 that is ready to receiveΒ  the gospel.

So my Challenge to each of you is to study hope this week. And see how could you improve just a little bit to be a little better. πŸ™‚

I love you all and I hope you all have a wonderful week! πŸ™‚ Happy March tomorrow!

All my love

8 Months old Today! 20 Years old on Sunday! =BIG WEEK! :D

Hello my friends and family! πŸ™‚ I hope you all had a Wonderful Valentine’s day! πŸ™‚ Ours was pretty good! My only wish is that we could’ve had all 3 hours of church. Bishop cancelled 2nd and 3rd hour due to the snow. plus we only had like 45 people come to church that day so yeah…. I wish we could’ve had more church!

This last week we had interviews with President and he told me that Sister Abegglen was leaving next transfer (March 10th) and I got the feeling that i was staying in the area for at least another Transfer.

We went to a Boy Scout Fundraiser this week at the Methodist church Because 2 of those boys were from our church and their parents paid for us to go. So that was a fun Finding opportunity a very causal way to introduce people to our church and talk a little bit about what we believe. we gave out a few Book of Mormon’s and a lot of pictures of Jesus.

John and Paula Johnson weren’t able to come to church but I think they have a pretty good reason. Paula was in the hospital with Kidney Stones AND a Hernia… Talk about Painful!! so hopefully we’ll be able to teach them again soon! Please keep them in your prayers.

Something funny that happened this week is Sister Abegglen and I were going around Sunday Morning trying to wake people up like normal. Well we went to our Investigators Door and it was so cold that the door handle snapped off in Sister A’s hand. It was so funny! She’s such a little person and to see her just rip the door handle off… I don’t know I just started laughing uncontrollably πŸ™‚ haha we went back later and Apologized and it wasn’t that big of a deal but I sure had a good laugh about it. πŸ™‚

Well that’s all I have to say for this week! When I talk to you all next week I will have officially left my teenage years. Haha I don’t know but 20 feels super different then 19… haha oh well I’ll just have to deal with it when it happens. πŸ™‚ Well I love you all! I hope you have a wonderful week!

All my love,
Sister Brittany Pope

Hello everybody!! :)

Happy Valentines day week!! πŸ™‚

– Side Note. Next Monday is President’s day and the Library will be closed. SO!! I’ll email Ya’ll on Tuesday the 16th πŸ™‚

This week was great! we’ve got a few good investigators and i’m really excited for them! John and Paula Johnson we set a new date with! for March 5th. They’ve had all the lessons now its just getting them to live the word of wisdom. I just don’t understand cigarettes at all… so… Don’t Smoke okay? Anyway we set a date with them and the Burgos Family went out of town this weekend so we couldn’t visit them. But we will set a baptismal date with them for the end of March πŸ™‚ So that will be great! πŸ™‚ I’m pretty sure i’m going to be staying in this area until April so its great πŸ™‚

We had Zone Training meeting this week and we were counseled about Patience. So I’m just giving you all a heads up… I’m praying for patience this week. Meaning… Bad things always happen when I pray for Patience… the worst being Kidney Stone… Anyway just be aware because I love you all and it could affect you too πŸ™‚ hahaha But I’m praying for it so that I can grow as a person and a missionary. I know more good things come from it then bad πŸ™‚ so it will be a good week. πŸ™‚

Another thing I learned from zone training was said by Elder Banta (An AP) But he was talking about Weaknesses. And in my head i’m counting all of my weaknesses and thinking wow there is so much for me to improve on. But he Said “Weaknesses are not Sin. They are given to us by our Heavenly Father to keep us Humble” That really touched me. My weakness don’t make me a bad person but its a way for me to lean on my Heavenly Father for help. I know he can help make me strong. So my Ponderize Scripture this week is Ether 12:27. I know that with the Lord I can do all things. Including Missionary work. πŸ™‚

I love this work and Yes it is really hard. But its also worth it. I love all of you! I hope you have a great week! πŸ™‚

oh otherside note. One of the Spanish Elder’s Investigators loves all of missionaries and he dared me to bear my testimony in Spanish. So I did haha πŸ™‚ It was very short very simple but very True. πŸ™‚ The spirit is the same in all languages. So that was pretty cool. great week!

How does the Savior See my Faith?

Hello my Favorite people! πŸ™‚ This are great in Marshalltown! πŸ™‚ Our investigators finally came to church!! Yeah!! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€Β  So this week was 5th Sunday so that meant its Missionary Sunday and all the missionaries get to speak… haha Yay… But its was really good! I feel like i’m getting better at giving talks. I was asked to speak on Faith then Elder Collins spoke on Hope and Elder Nelson on Humility and then Sister Abegglen brought us home with her talk on Charity. πŸ™‚ it was awesome.

I based my talk from Alma 32. and Elder Whitney L Clayton’s talk “Choose to Believe” and explained that there is 4 steps to a rock solid testimony of the gospel. 1. Be humble. 2. Choose to Believe. 3. Act. and 4. Nourish (or Bear) Testimony. πŸ™‚ I challenge you to ask your self the same question as my subject line. How does the savior see your faith. And if you want a better opinion do whatever it takes to change.

Our Investigators are doing well! we finally had some come to church! Rachelle and the Burgos family! πŸ™‚ It was so great! The Burgos couldn’t stay for the whole time but they will try next week. They are so sincere. I love them so much. I’m so excited to continue work with them. I know they can be baptized while i’m here πŸ™‚ so that makes me even happier.

Random things that happened this week…

We saw a Car Chase… haha It was kinda exciting.

Trump and Hillary Clinton came to town. haha I don’t know why Marshalltown… but Okay

We talked to a very high person… haha he thought he was a can of vegetables in a past life and the microwave really messed him up. He told us so many interesting things… yikes… we just tried to politely leave as quickly as possible.

Well anyway! Things are going great! My Companion and I are staying together another transfer! Woot! so thats exciting. I hope we can make a little bit of a difference here.

I hope youΒ  know that I love this gospel. I know this church is true and that Jesus Christ is our Savior. and through his Atonement we can be forgiven of all our sins. The Book of Mormon is the word of God and as we sincerely pray and ask God we can know for ourselves.

Have a wonderful week! I love you!
